About
I am an associate professor of political science at Brown University and live in Cambridge, MA. My book, From Slavery to the Cooperative Commonwealth: Labor and Republican Liberty in the Nineteenth Century (CUP) was published in 2015. I am currently writing a book on the political ethics of strikes. My research interests cover the history of political and economic thought as well as current debates in areas like freedom, work, leisure, and political economy. I also write for magazines like Jacobin, Dissent and Salon and am a co-blogger at The Current Moment.
